Material of Jewelry
When it comes to jewelry, consumers are looking for quality over quantity. They want pieces that will last them a lifetime, not just a season. And they’re willing to pay more for it, too.
A recent study found that 78% of millennial women would rather have one piece of high-quality jewelry than multiple pieces of lower quality. And when it comes to materials, they care about more than just gold and silver.
Here are some of the most popular materials among millennial women:
- Diamonds
- Silver
- Gold
- Rose gold
- Platinum

Style of Jewelry
While some shoppers might be more concerned with the quality or price of a piece of jewelry, others might be more interested in the style. In order to appeal to as many consumers as possible, it’s important to offer a variety of styles in your jewelry line.
Some shoppers might prefer classic and timeless pieces while others might prefer something more trendy or unique. By offering a mix of styles, you can ensure that there’s something for everyone.
Some common jewelry styles include:
- Statement: These are pieces that are designed to make a bold statement and stand out from the rest. They’re often large and eye-catching, and they can be worn for special occasions or everyday wear.
- Classic: Classic pieces are timeless and elegant. They’re often understated and can be worn for any occasion.
- Trendy: Trendy pieces are those that are on-trend with current fashion trends. They might be more daring than classic or statement pieces, but they can add a touch of fun to any outfit.
- Bohemian: Bohemian pieces are often inspired by nature
Consumers are interested in the style of the jewelry they purchase and how it compliments their look. They want to be able to mix and match different pieces to create their own unique style. In addition, consumers are also interested in the quality of the jewelry and how well it is made.

Quality of Jewelry
Consumers care about the quality of jewelry and want to know that it will last. They are also interested in new trends and want to be able to find affordable jewelry that is still stylish.
The majority of consumers (75 percent) say that the quality of a piece of jewelry is more important to them than the brand, according to a new study from MVI Marketing.
When it comes to fine jewelry, consumers are looking for three things: quality, design and price. In fact, quality is the most important factor for nearly half of respondents (48 percent).
Interestingly, men place a higher importance on quality than women do. Eight in 10 men (80 percent) say that quality is very important to them when purchasing fine jewelry, compared to just under half of women (45 percent).
When it comes to quality, most consumers are willing to pay more for better quality. In a study by the National Association of Jewelry Appraisers, 80% of respondents said they would rather buy a piece of jewelry that is well-made and will last a long time, even if it costs more.
-
Price of Jewelry
While many factors can influence a person’s purchase of jewelry, price is often one of the most important. In a survey of 2,000 people, 77% said they would not buy jewelry if it was too expensive.
Other important factors included quality (49%), style (40%), and brand (27%). However, when it came to reasons for not purchasing jewelry, price was by far the most common reason given.
The survey also found that nearly half of respondents (45%) would be willing to spend up to $500 on jewelry, while only 5% said they would spend more than $5,000. When asked how much they had actually spent on their most expensive piece of jewelry, the average respondent said $1,285.

Does the Jewelry Hold Its Value
People care about whether their jewelry holds value for a variety of reasons. Some people want to make sure that they can sell their jewelry if they need to in the future, while others simply want to know that their jewelry will be worth something if it is passed down to their children or grandchildren. Regardless of the reason, it is important to understand how different types of jewelry hold value over time.
When it comes to jewelry, people care about two things: how it looks and whether it holds value. And when it comes to the latter, there are a few things to keep in mind.
First, know that gold and silver will always hold value. They may fluctuate in price, but they will never be worthless. So if you're looking for an investment, those are two good options.
Second, be aware of theFour Cs of diamonds: cut, color, clarity, and carat weight. The better the quality in those categories, the more valuable the diamond will be.
Finally, don't forget that jewelry is also sentimental value. Even if it's not worth a lot of money, it can still be priceless to you or someone you love.
And as a jeweler, it’s your job to address them.As the pandemic continues, more and more people are shopping online for their jewelry needs. And while this is great news for jewelers, it also means that there are new challenges to address. Namely, how can you ensure that your customers feel comfortable making such an important purchase online?
Here are a few things to keep in mind:
- Make sure your website is up to date and easy to navigate. If it’s hard to find what you’re looking for, customers will get frustrated and leave.
- Use high-quality images and videos. This is especially important for engagement rings – customers want to be able to see the ring from all angles before they make a purchase.
- Use language that instills confidence. Be clear about your return policy, shipping times, etc. Customers should feel like they can trust you with their purchase.
- Offer customer support. Whether it’s live chat, a phone number, or email, make sure you have someone available to answer questions and address concerns.
