    The majority of consumers (75 percent) say that the quality of a piece of jewelry is more important to them than the brand, according to a new study from MVI Marketing.

    When it comes to fine jewelry, consumers are looking for three things: quality, design and price. In fact, quality is the most important factor for nearly half of respondents (48 percent).

    Interestingly, men place a higher importance on quality than women do. Eight in 10 men (80 percent) say that quality is very important to them when purchasing fine jewelry, compared to just under half of women (45 percent).

    When it comes to quality, most consumers are willing to pay more for better quality. In a study by the National Association of Jewelry Appraisers, 80% of respondents said they would rather buy a piece of jewelry that is well-made and will last a long time, even if it costs more.

  • Price of Jewelry

    While many factors can influence a person’s purchase of jewelry, price is often one of the most important. In a survey of 2,000 people, 77% said they would not buy jewelry if it was too expensive.

    Other important factors included quality (49%), style (40%), and brand (27%). However, when it came to reasons for not purchasing jewelry, price was by far the most common reason given.

    The survey also found that nearly half of respondents (45%) would be willing to spend up to $500 on jewelry, while only 5% said they would spend more than $5,000. When asked how much they had actually spent on their most expensive piece of jewelry, the average respondent said $1,285.

- Make sure your website is up to date and easy to navigate. If it’s hard to find what you’re looking for, customers will get frustrated and leave.

- Use high-quality images and videos. This is especially important for engagement rings – customers want to be able to see the ring from all angles before they make a purchase.

- Use language that instills confidence. Be clear about your return policy, shipping times, etc. Customers should feel like they can trust you with their purchase.

- Offer customer support. Whether it’s live chat, a phone number, or email, make sure you have someone available to answer questions and address concerns.
